Great question—and one I get often! If gigs don’t immediately show up near you, don’t worry. I teach my students three proven strategies to start landing opportunities, even if they live in a slower area:
1. Expand your search radius.
Start with your zip code and gradually expand to ten or fifteen miles out. Many gigs are flexible with location and still worth the short trip.
2. Switch platforms.
There are hundreds of companies and thousands of gigs available at any given time. I teach you exactly how to surf the opportunity boards so you can find the gigs you want, on platforms that are active in your region.
3. Know your options.
The only state that requires a special certificate for some of these gigs is Nevada (specifically Las Vegas). Everywhere else in the U.S.—you’re good to go. In fact, there are often more gigs than people to do them.
And of course, if you’re stuck or unsure, you’ll have access to my private Facebook support group, where I (and other students) are always ready to help guide you. You’re never alone in this!
